Learn to talk with your employees show them you have personal connection with them, that you are enthusiastic to hear their questions and concerns, example if somebody complains that her fellow worker is not doing her duties well you need to listen step in and settle the issues fairly. A good office manager must not be caught unaware of what is happening around him, he should always know the latest topics even achievement within the department.
A good office manager always has the positive attitude making certain that whenever his employee performs good he should receive compliments publicly, he gives credit to those deserving, treating everybody fairly and evaluate subordinates based on performance. He always valued time and entrust the task to his people and making sure that at the end of the day the job will have a positive result.
He should be responsible at all times, when his group is approaching a deadline and the schedule is too tight he should have a lending hand always to help everybody meet the cut-off-date. When a problem arise he should not blame others and instead must stand and take the responsibility by himself. A good manager must have concern and heart with his employees, making sure that they have a safe, pleasant and convenient working place to dwell in, giving tolerance to subordinates personal needs say in case of family matter and urgent situation family comes first before the job. A good office manager knows how to overcome criticism not taking them negatively but instead employ them to enhance his weaknesses.
